COLLECTION OF LETTERS WITH VENETIC HORSE

(handmade paper)

The handmade paper is created in Vevče according to the procedure dating back to 400 years ago, thus preserving the tradition of the first paper mill, which has been in operation in Fužine near Ljubljana since 1579.
The basic ingredients of paper are pure cotton and linen, with the addition of natural earthen colourings and various natural products for decoration, such as flowers, leaves, grasses, sorghum ...

The letters feature a VENETIC HORSE watermark (a symbol impressed on the wet paper pulp for the letter paper, visible when viewed by transmitted light).
"Using the horse of peace or the spiritual horse taken from the renowned Situla from Vače, I reawaken the prehistoric culture of Slovenians – the culture of the Veneti. Within it I have illustrated the spirituality of mankind."
This sculpture is set at various locations, including the World Trade Centre in Ljubljana, the Mestni trg Square in Slovenj Gradec, the United Nations Palace in Geneva, the Nebug complex in Sochi by the Black Sea and the former Parliament in Jerusalem.
The letters are made of handmade paper. Through this letter set, I wish to preserve the Slovenian cultural heritage of papermaking VEVZHE (Vevče) 1579 and stimulate the culture of writing spiritual messages...
Today, this is of major importance for the preservation of the culture of writing and spirited expression.
