The seahorse lives at the bottom of the cleanest parts of the Slovenian and world seas. It has long been considered the pearl of the Slovenian sea, and therefore the artist adorned it with a crown. The sea is of great significance to our country. Whoever is linked to the sea, is linked to the world...
The Slovenian cultural heritage related to sea is grand, from the ČUPA, the first ancient fishing boat as a world-scale innovation, to the KOGOJ, the most famous ancient fishing net.
Even today, fishing and water are related to the surname of KOGOJ and the oldest fishermen in Dalmatia still remember the great net, which continues to be used in South India – TRIVANDRUM. (I experienced pulling in such a net myself.)
The seahorse from under the "Devin cliff", caught by a friend from Jerusalem, the deceased Izzika Gaon, senior curator and founder of THE ISRAEL MUSEUM OF JERUSALEM (where some products from the NATURE DESIGN collection are also kept), served as the basis to create the sculpture.
The Seahorse is a symbol of development, power, seeking the truth and love. We should, therefore, be happy this is a Slovenian and Mediterranean symbol.
