THE SLOVENIAN FOUNTAIN PEN
(19 cm, walnut, plastic)A symbol of creativity, knowledge, imagination,
new beginnings and learning ...
Inspired by the designer Oskar Kogoj, the
Slovenian pen is a masterly fusion of tradition, symbolism and contemporary
elegance. Its form is not by chance – it carries a profound message that rises
beyond the mere function of writing.
The pen is designed so that, apart from smooth and
comfortable writing, it can also be used to open letters. The tip of the cap
and the grip section is precise and sharp in shape, yet in the hand it feels
gentle, soft and surprisingly pleasant. This softness is achieved through the
carefully considered form and use of natural material. The pen is made entirely
of walnut wood, without any metal reinforcements. The wood evokes sensations of
warmth, connectedness and groundedness. One’s thought gently flows through the
hand into words on a page, making writing lighter, more authentic and more
connected. Subtle, parapsychological values were also taken into account –
thought, energy and hand operate in harmony.
The discovery of the written word was given to
humankind as a process that links thought, word and deed. This inner flow has
represented the path to harmony in all known civilisations – a balance between
the inner and outer worlds. When that harmonious flow weakens, a natural
"weighing” occurs within the individual: a renewed search for equilibrium that
brings us back to ourselves. The invention of the pen generally enabled
humanity to extend its inner mental landscape into the outer world. Writing
becomes a discipline of elegant handwriting – elegant in form, in content, and
in conduct. With the written word, we create a second world, a personal
dimension that that develops as we grow. Our consciousness can reach multiple
levels, multiple worlds of understanding. To develop them, one must immerse
oneself in the creative process already set out before us – in the soft stroke
of the pen that unites thought, motion and energy in the hand.
The Slovenian pen is, namely, more than a tool. It
is a channel that allows the energy of thought to become visible: a personal
bridge between inner and outer worlds, between feeling and form, between the
person and what they write down.
Every pen is carefully and artfully hand-turned in
Slovenia. It is produced slowly and attentively, with a high level of hand
skills and respect for the natural material. For this reason, each pen is
unique – just like the thought it leaves on the page.
