Description

THE VENETIC HORSE

Symbol of power, nobility, wisdom, beauty ...

Small statuette (on a stone base  – 12 cm x 6 cm x 2 cm,  porcelain, gilding (18ct gold), white glaze)

The image of the Venetic horse is one of the most distinctive images of the Early Iron (Hallstatt) Age. It is impossible to include all of the figures that appear on the situlas within a short presentation. Describing some of them in their symbolic meaning would also be somewhat risky. This is not true, however, in the case of the Venetic horse, which was considered by the Veneti people to be an almost divine creature. About a century after it was first depicted on situlas, Greek and Roman authors wrote that the Veneti people were the best horse breeders. The Veneti depicted horses everywhere – not in a realistic manner, which was the case in Greek and Roman arts, but in a stylised form.
Stylised depictions of horses show what nature cannot, namely the horse’s spiritual nature. One of the elements of this nature is "the horse as man’s friend, his companion, his comrade." The artist said: "I must admit that I was immediately drawn to the stylised depictions of horses on situlas, even though they were in miniature size. Therefore, I used them as a model to make a near life-sized figure of the Venetic horse. The result was a statue with a mild expression, a statue of a horse radiating some sort of divine peace."
The statue quickly won public attention, and today its oversize duplicates stand at several locations: at the World Trade Centre in Ljubljana, in the Town Square in Slovenj Gradec, in front of the Palace of Nations in Geneva, in the Nebug complex in Sochi on the Black Sea coast and in front of the former parliament building in Jerusalem.
"I have designed the horse of peace or the spiritual horse, the image of which I derived from the depictions on the famous situla from Vače, in order to revive the ancient culture of the Slovenes – the culture of the Veneti. The statue is a portrait of human spirituality…"

THE ENERGY OF GOLDEN REFLECTION

The meaning of gold colour

The colour gold symbolises abundance, wealth, prestige, prosperity and luxury. It is the colour of success, achievements, triumph and optimism. It is associated with quality, prestige, sophistication and elegance. Gold attracts the eye and represents inspiration and the activation of spiritual energy. It can improve mental and physical health, while also lighting the way to future goals and bringing success, since it is associated with the energy of the sun and, in turn, with life energy, strength and self-confidence. It helps to achieve spiritual enlightenment and to gain knowledge and a deeper understanding of one’s own self and soul. It celebrates successes and motivates people to reach their potential. Gold is optimistic and positive, and adds richness and warmth to everything it is associated with, thus illuminating and enhancing other things around it as well. The colour gold increases passion and charisma, as well as compassion and understanding.

Gold is a sacred colour in both religious and magical contexts. It represents divine qualities, which is why many of the objects used in sacred rituals are made of gold or gold-coloured. It is associated with pre-eminence, has a frequency of higher protection, and signifies total integration and spiritual service.

Why plate items in gold? Because humans also have a little gold in their bodies. What connects the individual human to their soul in the physical sense is gold. This connection is ‘golden’. Unless one ‘gilds’ oneself spiritually, one cannot come closer to God, to knowing oneself, to a deeper realisation that one is a spiritual being. A spiritual being can only develop in a physical body.
